Am I eligible to take a medical leave under Michigan’s Family Medical Leave Act?
Yes if: 1) you have worked for the State of Michigan for at least 12 months, not necessarily consecutively, in the last seven years; 2) you worked at least 1250 hours in the last 12 months; and 3) you must not have already exhausted your FMLA entitlement for the year.
What can I use my FMLA for?
You can use FMLA leave for the following: the birth and/or care of a child, when a child is placed in your custody, to take car of a sick child and/or parent, and to resolve a serious health problem.
